Molly Baz is one of the most prominent celebrity chefs right now. She is a New York Times best selling author, and has her own wine line. Baz recently announced on Instagram that she and her husband, Ben Willett, are expecting a baby. In the announcement, she shared a photo of herself in Palm Heights. Baz lounged on a chair at the beach in a black swimsuit. How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Molly Baz stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.
Naturally, food plays a big role in Baz’s life. This also means that exercise plays a big role in her life. “I think something people don’t know about me is that I work out almost every day because of my job,” she explained in an interview with Whale Bone Magazine. “I’m constantly grazing and eating and tasting. It’s really important to me to build an appetite. I can’t develop recipes if I’m not hungry.”
Baz has a busy schedule. She tells Body + Soul that in order to be successful, she has to make time for herself. “I have extremely varied work weeks, which means I need to be inspired all of the time and that’s really challenging. I’ve had to learn that it’s ok to allow myself the permission to walk away on days when I’m not feeling it. Often I’ll turn off my recipe developer brain and focus on what’s in front of me, like what we’re having for dinner. I’ll get my husband to choose what we have for dinner, rather than trying to come up with something myself. Everytime, without fail, when I do this and let myself cook like a ‘normal’ person, the burnout subsides and inspiration sparks.”
Baz likes to intermittently fast. She shared in her Body + Soul interview that this was something that she adapted naturally. “I also find it incredibly difficult to cook and develop recipes when I’m not hungry. I wouldn’t dare eat a two-course meal before heading into the kitchen to work on a recipe. As a result, I’ve subconsciously adopted intermittent fasting – I don’t eat until we’re done testing a recipe.”
Baz talked about how she deals with being in the public eye and how she handles getting negative comments with Body + Soul. “It can be hard, particularly on channels like YouTube where people feel emboldened by anonymity. I think working in the age of social media you just have to know not to take that sh*t to heart. Most careers are a lot more insular and the feedback stays between the employee and their manager. In my case, it’s on display for everyone and anyone which can be difficult. I just remind myself that I know how much they don’t know about my life when they say these absurd things.”
Baz shared some of her favorite skincare products in an interview with New York Magazine. She says that she has switched from moisturizer to body oil. “I have notoriously dry skin and I always just used a dermatologist-recommended moisturizer. But after my sister gave me this body oil for my birthday, I started using it in place of moisturizer at night. It makes me feel like I just left the spa; it’s like a little bit of luxury. It leaves my skin looking plump and dewy, but not in a greasy way. Also, it smells great.”
