Many in Hollywood took to social media over the long weekend to share how they rang in the new year.
Natasha Lyonne posted a selfie taken with Colman Domingo at a party to her Instagram page on Monday (January 1st). The Rustin actor is dressed up as a “Disco Cowboy” and is sticking his tongue out, while Lyonne sports a Medusa-inspired crown that reads, “HAPPY NEW YEAR.”
In a video shared to Instagram on Sunday (December 31st), Jack Black did a cannonball into a swimming pool while singing “Cecilia” by Simon & Garfunkel.
Halle Bailey reflected on what a big year 2023 was for her. Posting a collection of photos that featured her work on The Little Mermaid and The Color Purple, Bailey wrote, “2023 is a year i will never ever forget … looking back on this year i can’t believe this is my life … i’m so thankful to God … also thankful to all of you for your unwavering support.”
David Beckham poked fun at his wife, Victoria Beckham, for the claims she made about her family being “working class” on his Netflix docuseries, Beckham. Sharing a photo of them having lunch with Victoria’s parents at The Ritz on New Year’s Eve, he wrote, “Very working class.” With a laughing and crying emoji, he added, “My mother & father in law left in there Roll’s.”
Rachel Leviss wrote that 2023 has been “the hardest year yet” for her, following all of the “Scandoval” drama. “As we set intentions into the new year, I vow to be a better friend to the ones close in my life,” she added.
The Golden Bachelor star Gerry Turner and his fiancée, Theresa Nist, celebrated the new year in Times Square in New York City. “Relaxing in a New York State of mind waiting for the ball to drop and wishing everyone a happy, healthy and joyful New Year,” Nist captioned a series of selfies shared to Instagram.
