A little over a month ago the unexpected death of ‘Friends’ actor, Matthew Perry, took place. His autopsy report came out on Friday, in which it was revealed that actor who played Chandler Bing died due to “acute effects of ketamine”.
Despite his illustrious career as a film and TV actor, Perry had spoken openly about his struggles with addiction in the past. In fact, a very close friend stated in an interview with the Daily Mail that his relationship with narcotics never ended.
The person in question did not want to reveal his identity but stated: “He lied to everyone about being clean. He never was. It’s very sad. The biggest lie he told was probably to himself.”
He noted that at times Perry could be “quite a manipulative person when it came to his struggles with consumption, it was a fight, a battle, and he fought every day to the end.”
The autopsy revealed that Matthew Perry had high doses of ketamine in his body and that his death was caused by the “acute effects” of the drug and respiratory distress, however, the level in the body was similar to that of a patient admitted to the hospital.”
Two years ago he confirmed that he was no longer addicted
It should be recalled that the autopsy statement alleges that “with the high levels of ketamine found in his post-mortem blood samples, the main lethal effects would be from both cardiovascular overstimulation and respiratory depression.”
This could prove that the actor had not been sober for 18 months, as he confirmed in October 2022. The ‘Friends’ actor stated he spent approximately $9 million trying to cope with his addiction to alcohol, visiting up to 6,000 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. Two years ago he was able to reaffirm that he had left his addiction aside and his life was healthier.
