Fred Sirieix grinned from ear to ear as he was reunited with his fiancée Fruitcake at the Marriot Hotel following his elimination from I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
The First Dates star, 51, became the third campmate to be eliminated after he lost out to Danielle Harold in the public vote on Tuesday.
The couple looked on cloud nine to be back together again as they were greeted by the other celebrities’ loved ones at the hotel.
Fruitcake, who keeps her real name private, found time for an outfit change after leaving the jungle with Fred.
She donned an orange and pink midi dress with a floral print along with a pair of peach sandals.
After his elimination from the jungle, Fred was met by Fruitcake at the end of the bridge and immediately told her: ‘I love you’.
The loved-up pair shared a close embrace, before smiling on the bridge together.
Upon his exit, Fred spoke about how he tried to just live in the moment during his time on the show, rather than dwelling on missing his fiancée.
Speaking to Ant and Dec, he explained: ‘I was really living in the moment, I did not think about home, I did not think about work… I just ploughed through.’
The First Dates star shared that they are hoping to finally marry in Jamaica next year, during a discussion with his campmates on I’m A Celebrity about meeting their partners for the first time.
Fred shared: ‘I’ve never had a bad date. But the way I met Fruitcake, I met her in Peckham.
‘I was walking up and she was smiling at me and I was smiling at her and I liked her eyes… I just had to talk to her… I asked for her number, I said, ”Shall we go for a drink tonight?” That was nine years ago. We’re getting married next year in Jamaica.’
Back in July 2020, Fred revealed that he and Fruitcake had cancelled their wedding, and were planning to wait until the end of the Covid pandemic to exchange their vows.
Fred also revealed that due to lockdown he couldn’t present his fiancé with a ring when he popped the question, but luckily she still said yes.
Speaking about his delayed nuptials, Fred told Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway: We’re waiting to see when we can travel because it’s important for all of our friends and family [to be there].
‘We have to be patient and see what is going to happen – it is out of our control. But we are planning for early 2022 now.
‘It’s going to be great. I can’t wait. It’s just going to be very exciting.’
Fred said they are in the early stages of planning the big day, but are in ‘no rush’ to tie the knot.
He added: ‘We have slowly started looking at wedding venues and where we are going to do it. But there’s no rush and we are keeping all of our options open.’
On the moment he proposed to his beloved ‘fruitcake,’ Fred said he originally popped the question without a ring due to the restrictions put in place during lockdown.
He said: ‘It was perfect because she said yes – that’s the main thing. The only thing is though is I did not get a ring.
‘But I’ve now managed to do it because we are out of lockdown so the ring is there and she is very happy. So all is well!”
Fred became the third campmate to be eliminated from the Australian jungle in Tuesday night’s episode of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.
It comes after Nella Rose was the second star to be eliminated on Monday, while jockey Frankie Dettori was the first to go home in the public vote.
Jamie Lynn Spears and Grace Dent both previously exited the jungle after separately quitting on medical grounds, with just seven campmates now remaining.
Fred had a drama-filled time in camp after clashing with Nigel Farage over Brexit, rowing with Josie Gibson about the cooking and being confronted by Nella in the ‘Dadgate’ row.
After his eviction, Fred joined Ant and Dec to look back on his time in the jungle and spoke about his struggle to let go of control in the kitchen – which saw him branded by fans as ‘controlling’ and ‘misogynistic’.
The maître d’hôtel and professional chef previously clashed with Josie as he hit out at her cooking skills while struggling to let go of his former camp chef role.
Doubling down on his views after his elimination, Fred said: ‘[Josie] doesn’t know what she does in the kitchen, she makes it up as she goes along.’
‘You really need the calories, and you’ve got to find them whenever you can. I think we missed out on quiet a few meals [by not recycling ingredients],’ he added.
When asked why he didn’t get involved as much with Sam Thompson and Nick Pickard’s cooking, he said they were a ‘dream’ and there was ‘no need’ for him to do so.
Asked how he found the tricky challenges on the show, Fred insisted he had been vigorously training for his stint in the jungle and told how he found most of it ‘easy’.
‘I found it quiet easy because I prepared myself mentally, I was really thinking… the challenges I found it quite easy actually because I was quite focused,’ he said.
‘The physical training helps you with the mental side of things, because it’s about the focus, and when you do that repeatedly, you get into that mindset and you keep going.’
When asked about his up-and-down relationship with Nigel Farage in the camp, Fred insisted their time together hadn’t swayed him on their political differences.
He said: ‘It was great in the camp because I’m a do-er and Nigel is a do-er… but there is a side of Nigel Farage that I won’t and will never connect with.’
The pair got into a fierce debate over Brexit in a recent episode which saw Fred accuse the former UKIP leader of ‘talking b*******’.
