I’m A Celebrity bosses are said to be ‘rethinking’ the evictions process as the show teeters on the brink of a ‘full-blown crisis’.
ITV producers will be desperate for some stability following the departures of two contestants – Jamie Lynn Spears and Grace Dent – before celebrities have even begun to be voted out.
In addition, the camp has been hit by a number of thunderstorms and downpours, while trials only seem to be getting more and more difficult, with Josie Gibson breaking down in tears for the first time on Thursday’s episode.
According to The Mirror, bosses could be rethinking the process of starting to evict the celebrities as they currently have two campmates fewer than expected – such as making them start later on in the show or having them less often.
The eviction date usually begins around this point in the show – but has not yet been mentioned by hosts Ant and Dec.
A show insider told the newspaper: ‘They are all struggling in that camp. Not just the ones who quit, everyone seems to be finding it tough this year and there is still a long way to go.
‘If anyone else was to quit or leave on medical grounds now we would have a full-blown crisis on our hands.
‘The ratings drop will mean bosses go back to the drawing board and we will see new tricks next year.’
A source later confirmed to MailOnline: ‘There will still be three celebs in the final on Sunday, December 10.’
‘The first vote off date will be revealed very soon.’
There are fears Nella Rose could be the next to leave: she previously said she didn’t want to be ‘the first’ to quit – but now the groundwork has seemingly been laid for her departure.
The show has also been hit by a ratings crisis – as the show’s launch was down 2.2 million on 2022.
Figures from last weekend revealed that a further 1.3 million have now switched the show off.
Fans were left fuming after ex UKIP leader Nigel Farage joined the show for a £1.5million fee.
Audiences have been vocal about boycotting the show over the controversial figure’s pay cheque.
Jamie Lynn has not addressed why she left the jungle but did break her silence on her exit through a post on Instagram on Thursday.
She wrote: ‘I can’t wait to share with y’all everything about this once in a lifetime experience, but I don’t even know where to start when trying to describe what an incredibly special time and place I had with some of the absolute best humans I have ever met and consider family now.
‘THANK YALL for welcoming me into your living rooms night after night, and for supporting me through all the highs and lows.
‘I’m am so grateful for this show, and all of the wonderful people apart of it! I will be taking some time to recovery and spend time with my family, but looking forward to sharing all about my journey on @imacelebrity with everyone! LOVE YALLLL.’
Jamie Lynn’s decision to leave the camp was first revealed on Wednesday, with her final scenes in the airing later that evening.
