I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! has been hit with 2,000 complaints to Ofcom, following Nella Rose’s clashes with two campmates.
The ITV programme got off to an explosive start last week as Nella, 26, was seen in an awkward argument with First Dates star Fred Sirieix days after the show’s action-packed launch. The YouTuber, who sadly lost both her parents, took offence to a comment Fred, 51, made about being old enough to be her father.
Viewers were quick to react as Nella was seen later confronting Fred over his comment – intended to point out their age difference – as Nella explained she felt upset by Fred’s words as he knew her father had passed away. A gobsmacked Fred then profusely apologised, but Nella insisted she would not speak to him for the remainder of her time in the jungle.

Her reaction sparked a huge debate online as some slammed her for her actions – while others insisted her offence came from the grief after losing both parents. Now, Ofcom has revealed they have received 907 complaints from the episode, which aired on November 21 – the majority of which, 862, were over the heated TV row between the campmates.
However, the pair appear to have since made up as they are on good terms in camp now and even competed in a challenge together. In one episode, they took it in turns to dunk their opponents in an ice tank and score points, with Rose and Sirieix exchanging high fives and sharing a hug at the end of the challenge, which they won.

Viewers were then left puzzled over a missing scene on the reality challenge show, as Nella and Fred making up was not shown explicitly on screen. On Saturday night Josie was quick to find out if they had patched things up while she had been gone. As she and the others returned to the main camp, reunited with their jungle pals, Josie was quick to ask whether Nella and Fred were talking again.
She asked: “Are you and Fred friends yet?”, to which Nella replied: “Yeah, yeah, yeah.” Josie, thrilled, said back: “Oh good. I knew you’d iron it out. I bet you get on really well now. I knew that would happen.”
The day after the YouTube star’s fallout with Fred, Nella was later seen embroiled in an awkward clash with fellow campmate Nigel Farage as she confronted him over his anti-immigration views. The 26-year-old YouTube star admitted she did not know much about Farage, 59, before looking him up on the internet ahead of her I’m A Celebrity stint. But she left Farage briefly squirming and trying to justify his position, which is seen by most people as largely anti-immigration.

Down by the bath, Nella spoke to Brexiteer Farage, during which she said: “Let’s get everything out in the open. All the tea is coming out now… apparently you’re anti-immigrants?” Nigel replied: “Who told you that?” Nella said: “The internet.” Nigel added: “Oh, well there we are then it must be true.”
In the conversation Nella was later seen asking the ex MEP: “Why don’t black people like you?” The I’m A Celeb episode on November 22 received 898 complaints to the broadcasting regulator – the majority of which, 856, were related to “alleged racial offence from Nella Rose’s comments to Nigel Farage”.
It comes after fans piled on more criticism and accused the programme of a ‘fix’ after it was revealed Nella would be exempt from the latest Bushtucker trial due to medical reasons.
The ITV show’s campmate Nella, 26, was initially included in the public vote for the upcoming trial called In Too Deep. However, as Ant and Dec prepared to head into camp at the end of last night’s episode, the hosts announced that Nella had been made exempt from the trial at the last-minute.
Dec, 48, explained: “Now, unfortunately, Nella is being seen by the medic so she’ll be back later but it means she is now exempt from today’s trial.” The TV duo then headed into camp to reveal Nigel Farage and Nick Pickard had been chosen by the public to take part in the next trial.
In Tuesday night’s episode, YouTube star Nella showed no signs of illness, but an ITV spokesman said: “For medical reasons, Nella Rose is being treated by the show’s on site medics and will be returning to camp shortly. As a result, she is exempt from the next trial.”
However, it was later confirmed by ITV that Nella had returned to camp. In a new statement an ITV spokesman said: “During last night’s live broadcast, Nella Rose required medical treatment on site and was deemed unable to take part in the trial. Nella has since rejoined camp.”
