Nigel Farage appears to have caused a stir at ITV following his ‘attention-seeking’ tactics on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
The former politician, 59, recently stripped completely naked on a number of occasions, leaving his fellow campmates stunned.
He was also seen bathing nude and was reportedly ordered to turn his T-shirt back around after wearing it back to front so his voting information appeared on the front and is more visible to the viewing public.
Nigel’s team fired off a legal letter to ITV bosses for showing him naked in the I’m A Celebrity jungle shower.
His furious aides claim there is an ‘indecency’ clause in his contract which bans the channel from showing footage of him nude.
But after scenes on Monday night’s show, when igel’s bottom was seen by millions of viewers, his lawyer claimed the agreement had been broken.
A show source told the Mirror: ‘All the celebrities are fully briefed before they enter camp that there’s cameras everywhere, except for the dunny.’
Director of television of ITV Kevin Lygo made a joke about Nigel at the private ITV Palooza in London this week as he thanked the sign language interpreter at the event.
He said: ‘I don’t know any sign language. I just know the sign for Nigel Farage.’
He then made a rude gesture with his hand.
Kevin later joked: ‘Don’t worry, he knows he has to come home from Australia in a dinghy.’
A TV source told the paper: ‘Farage and his team think they are bigger than the show.’
MailOnline has contacted representative for Nigel for comment. ITV declined to comment when contacted by MailOnline.
Body language expert Judi James told Paddy Power Games: ‘It might be no coincidence that Nigel’s naked bathing has become a feature when most opt to wear their undies.
‘When Josie spoke about seeing his bum, Nigel stood with his hands on his hips in a gesture of confidence and even moved closer as he asked for compliments with his “was it alright”?’
Later in the Bush Telegraph, Josie laughed: ‘I wasn’t expecting to see Nigel Farage’s bottom so soon. But I’ve seen worse. No I haven’t, no I haven’t!’
ITV confirmed receiving the legal complaint from Nigel’s team but insisted there was nothing in his contract that forbids them from showing him naked. It is understood they are yet to reply to his team.
Friends of the politician believe the images have ‘worked wonders’ for his public profile, while others have credited his naked moments for stopping I’m A Celebrity becoming a ‘snoozefest’.
A source close to Mr Farage, 59, told The Mail on Sunday: ‘The legal team were not exactly over the moon about the naked scenes being shown. It simply broke the clause in the contract.
‘Nigel will be surprised at the incredible reaction to it when he comes out because, as always, he is just being himself in the jungle. Who knows – maybe he could even do a calendar next year.’
His naked scenes have ensured that, along with influencer Nella Rose, 26, he is the most talked about contestant of this year’s series.
Friends of his are furious with Lorraine Kelly for her comments about him being naked in the shower.
Speaking on her ITV morning show last week, she described the image as ‘traumatising’.
One said: ‘Imagine if Nigel had said that about Lorraine. It doesn’t bear thinking about.’
A post from Nigel’s official X account, being managed by his staff, said last Friday: ‘Has Lorraine apologised for bodyshaming Nigel Farage yet?’
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! continues Monday 27 November at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
