Comedian 2Mbili has called upon fellow celebrities, particularly artists, to show support for ailing gospel musician Alpha Mwana Mtule, who has been hospitalized for nearly a month with mounting medical bills.
2Mbili told Nairobi News that despite Mtule reaching out to some artistes for help, his calls went unanswered.
Only a handful, such as Guardian Angel and David Wonder, have visited him at Kenyatta National Hospital, where he is reportedly battling the effects of poisoning.
Taking to Instagram, 2Mbili expressed concern over the lack of support, stating, “Wasanii The Same Way Tulikimbia Kukula Pilau Kwa Chef Maliha, Tukimbie Pale KNH, We Are Losing A Brother, The Poison Is Killing Him slowly In Ward 10B.”
He further urged his followers to contribute to Mtule’s medical expenses by sending donations to his phone number.
2Mbili specifically called out comedian Eric Omondi, who has been actively fundraising for various causes, urging him to prioritize a visit to Mtule.
He claimed that Mtule had reached out to Eric, who promised to visit but has not yet done so.
“Eric Omondi should stop everything else and go see Mwana Mtule. They have worked together in the industry. I will go today and visit him. Mwanamtule has released songs with Eric Omondi, and so he should be supporting him,” 2Mbili emphasized.
Responding to questions about why he can’t mobilize support through his channel, 2Mbili acknowledged that some people don’t take him seriously.
However, he expressed determination to personally reach out to those who can assist and urged Eric Omondi to leverage his influence to rally Kenyans in supporting Mtule’s medical expenses, which have reportedly exceeded 400k.
In October, false rumors circulated that Alpha Mwana Mtule had passed away, causing confusion and leading to premature tributes.
Alpha Mwana Mtule addressed the situation, clarifying that he had been poisoned and is actively dealing with a severe health condition.
The gospel artist expressed his disappointment at comments suggesting he sought attention, emphasizing that he is genuinely facing a life-threatening situation.
