Jessica Simpson shares before-and-after picture after 6 years of sobriety

Jessica Simpson is celebrating her 6th year sober by showing all her followers an ‘unrecognizable’ picture of her life after she decided to stop drinking.

In the picture, she is seen sitting in an ottoman wearing a pink tracksuit while the sunrays bathe her face; although this picture was already shared back in 2021, she captioned the picture “This person in the early morning of Nov 1, 2017 is an unrecognizable version of myself,

Jessica Simpson would combine pills and alcohol while dating John Mayer

I had so much self-discovery to unlock and explore. I knew in this very moment I would allow myself to take back my light, show victory over my internal battle of self-respect, and brave this world with piercing clarity.” She elaborated.

While describing her journey to sobriety, Jessica opened up “I wanted to feel the pain so I could carry it like a badge of honor,” she continued. “I wanted to live as a leader does and break cycles to advance forward– never looking back with regret and remorse over any choice I have made and would make for the rest of my time here within this beautiful world.”

Like many who stop drinking, Jessica had a full body transformation and dropped 100 pounds “I have made nice with the fears and I have accepted the parts of my life that are just sad. I own my personal power with soulful courage,”

Jessica literally was an open book, as her 2020 memoir is titled ‘Open Book’, and during the presentation of the book she’d elaborate on how she would mix pills and alcohol while she was in a relationship with John Mayer after divorcing Nick Lachey.

On her relationship with Mayer, she elaborated, “He was so clever and treated conversation like a friendly competition that he had to win,”

“When I tried to leap back in and say something to add to the dialogue, he was having with himself, he would challenge what I said and I’d get quiet. I was so afraid of disappointing him that I couldn’t even text him without having someone check my grammar and spelling.” She spoke.

The mounting insecurity and pressure pushed Simpson toward imbibing to calm her anxiety.

According to the book, she also would suffer anxiety episodes that prompted her to drink, “My anxiety would spike, and I would pour another drink, it was the start of me relying on alcohol to mask my nerves.” She said on her book.
