Age is just a number, but Cher’s boyfriend, Alexander “A.E.” Edwards, might sometimes need a history lesson when it comes to the pop icon’s references. Cher, 77, shared in a recent interview what it’s like to be dating someone 40 years younger.
She explained, “Sometimes I’m talking to him, and he has no idea who I’m talking about… The other day, I said, ‘Do you know who, I don’t know, Clark Gable, [is]?’ Somebody said, ‘Yes, of course,’ but most of my references… He’ll look at me and go, ‘I wasn’t born yet.’“
Despite these occasional missed connections, Cher and A.E. Edwards seem to be a great match. Cher praised her boyfriend, saying, “We have a great time together.”
The “Believe”singer recalled that she and Edwards“can talk music. We can talk about everything. He’s got a great sense of humor. He’s got the cutest son in the world, ever… We just get each other.”
