Courteney Cox opens up about facial fillers: “My biggest beauty regret”

Courteney Cox, renowned for her role in the 90s sitcom “Friends,” revealed that her venture into facial fillers stands as her “biggest beauty regret.”

The 59-year-old actress expressed the immense pressure in the entertainment industry to maintain a youthful appearance, describing how the initial decision became a “domino effect” leading to additional procedures.

Cox acknowledged that changes are often very visible to the rest of the world; however, self-deception occurs because the person only undergoes one procedure at a time.

To the rest of the world, your face is so obviously changing, but to yourself – because you’re only having one procedure at a time – you don’t notice.

Ultimately, she deemed the experience a “total waste of time” and expressed regret for succumbing to societal pressures.

Cox’s other regrets

This revelation isn’t the first time Cox has spoken out about her reservations regarding injectables.

In a March episode of the “Gloss Angeles” podcast, she discussed the unintended consequences of the “domino effect” that accompanies starting with fillers.

Cox emphasized the gradual normalization in one’s perception, leading to a cycle of additional procedures.

Courteney, on the hunt for eternal youth

In a 2022 interview, Cox admitted to attempting to chase youthfulness for years and acknowledged the adverse effects of injections on her appearance.

However, she expressed gratitude for the reversibility of these procedures, stating, “I messed up a lot, and now luckily … I was able to reverse most of that.”

Courteney Cox joins a notable list of celebrities who have renounced anti-aging injections, including Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Lopez, and her “Friends” co-star Jennifer Aniston.

The openness of these celebrities about their decisions reflects a shifting perspective in the industry, where embracing natural aging becomes a powerful statement against societal beauty standards.
